Church of Agios Athanasios in Pentalofos

Built in 1816 in the central square of Pentalofos, the Church of Agios Athanasios is the second oldest religious monument of the village, after the Church of Agios Achilios. As the patronal church, it plays a central role in the religious events of the community.

The architecture of the church is characterized by simplicity and functionality, typical of the ecclesiastical tradition of Western Macedonia in the early 19th century. Although its interior is relatively simple, it includes remarkable frescoes and icons dating back to the period of its construction.

The strategic location of the church in the heart of the settlement makes it a natural center for social and religious activities. The annual feast of Agios Athanasios (January 18) gathers a significant number of worshippers, reinforcing the community's collective identity.
